  • The value of the BWCS (BALTPOOL Wood Chips SPOT) LT index is 24,17 Eur/MWh. Compared to the value of February, the index decreased 13 %, and compared to the results of the same period last year, the growth is 121 %.
  • Compared to February, the total delivered amount of biomass increased by 15 % to 876,610 MWh (34 % of the amount delivered under long-term contracts). Compared to the corresponding period last year, the amount of the delivered biomass increased by 33 %.
  • The supply price of chopped wood for the heating season of 2021-2022 currently averaged to 23,13 Eur/MWh. Compared to the heating season of 2020-2021, the supply price increased by 115 %.
  • The prices of transactions concluded in Estonia in March amounted to 23,47 Eur/MWh.
  • The prices of transactions concluded in Latvia in March amounted to 26,00 Eur/MWh.

HEAT AUCTION STATISTICS

  • In March 2022, a heat energy purchase auction was held for April 2022.
  • The weighted average purchase price of heat energy was 3,72 ct/kWh and was 3 % lower than that of the heat energy supplied in March (3,58 ct/kWh). Compared to the results of the same period last year, the price is 135 % higher (1,59 ct/kWh).
  • The amount of heat energy purchased for March was 429 148 MWh, which is 33 % less than the amount of heat purchased for March. Compared to the results of the same period last year, the amount of heat energy purchased increased by 7 %.
  • Sellers offered 661,429 MWh of heat energy at the auction, which is 8 % less compared to heat supply in March. Compared to the same period last year, the amount of heat that was offered for sale decreased by 4 %.
