October 2018 Review of Timber Trading

In October 2018, short-term contracts for sales of 15,580 m3 of timber were concluded at the ETTS, which is 44 percent less than in September. The financial value of contracts decreased twice during the month, to EUR 675,165.
The trade in TOP5 timber assortments in October amounted to 58 percent of all timber sales, i.e. 8,958 m3. Compared to September, the volume of trade in TOP5 assortments dropped by 60 percent.
The price of TOP5 assortments decreased by 9 percent, from 51.19 Eur/m3 in October to 46.63 Eur/m3 in September. The weighted price decrease was related not to decreasing offer, but to the changed portion of TOP5 assortments in the total volume.
