Half-year auction

On 4 December 2018, the half-year auction of the 1st half of 2019 organised by regional divisions of the State Enterprise State Forests Directorate was completed. Transactions for the sale of 676,500 m3 of timber were concluded during the auction, and the financial value of the transactions amounted to EUR 35,146,456. The amount of timber sold during this past auction increased by 20% (565,585 m3) compared to the half-year auction of the 2nd half of 2018 and by 12% (601,382 m3) compared to the half-year auction of the 1st half of 2018.

An auction of the 1st half of 2019 for concluding long-term contracts via the ETTS has not been held. During the long-term auction of the 1st half of 2018, transactions for the sale of 386,566 m3 of timber were concluded; this figure was 23,840 m3 for the long-term auction of the 2nd half of 2018.

Short-term auction

In November 2018, transactions for the sale of 16,404 m3 of timber under short-term contracts were concluded via the ETTS, which is a 5% increase compared to October. In the course of one month, the financial value of transactions decreased by 3% and amounted to EUR 653,729.

In November 2018, trade in TOP5 timber assortments accounted for 65% of the total sales of timber, i.e. 10,609 m3. Compared to October 2018, the volume of trade in TOP5 timber assortments increased by 18%.

In November, the weighted price of TOP5 timber assortments dropped by 15%, i.e. from 46.63 EUR/m3 to 39.56 EUR/m3. The fluctuations of prices of individual TOP5 timber assortments were between -3% and 9%. The decrease in the weighted price of TOP5 timber assortments was also affected by the changed proportion of the volumes of trade in TOP5 timber assortments.
